Bookcase Face Frame
Bookcase Face Frame. Hold the rail against the bottom shelf and mark onto the rail the center of each slot cut into the shelf. Then, nail the face frame in place using brads after the cases are installed.

Adding the Face Frame Start with the horizontal base rail at the bottom of the bookcase.
Drill two pocket holes on the back side of th ea cr mB. Making the face frame run past all the plywood edges provides a little wiggle room and hides not-so-perfect saw cuts on the plywood. The bookshelves are made of two primary sets of parts - the "Case" and the "Face Frame." The case is made up of side panels (with shelf-pin holes for the adjustable shelves), a top, a bottom, and a back.
